In order to continue to guarantee transport security and delivery reliability, First-DDSG Logistics Holding spares no expense. The pusher “M/S Melk” was equipped with 3 new engines with a total output of over 4,300 hp.

In addition, the self-propelled cargo vessel “M/S Baross” was converted into an efficient pusher with 2,300 hp. In the course of this conversion, precautions were already taken for a later conversion to green energy.

The company’s latest achievement is the first floating dock in Austria with a length of almost 40 m – called “Smart”. Thanks to the support of Ennshafen OÖ GmbH, the project could be realized and settled in Ennshafen.

This dock enables the inland shipping company to carry out maintenance and repairs independently and flexibly. The step towards independence from external companies was necessary because the number of shipyards along the Danube has been gradually reduced over the past few years.

In order to keep a fleet of this size efficient and reliable in the future, investments are unavoidable, as CEO DI Dr. Viatcheslav Vdovitchenko.

To dock a vessel usually takes hours, but give an impression, how this is working, a time lapse movie of the docking of M/S Graz was produces and can be find on our website as well.
